a tale of two evils?

A tale of two evils, a rather dominant school of thought these days. There're those believe Maumoon and Anni are equally, well, evil while others are trying to figure out who's the greater or lesser evil.

Let's face it. An evil lurks in everyone & when you're a politician it becomes more apparent & significant.

Here's my take on it. Tomorrow is voting day & we're faced with two choices: Maumoon who deprived us of our basic human rights for 25 years until he was forced to give in when the nation erupted with Evan Naseem's death; Anni, a brave citizen who always stood up to the regime with severe consequences.

Hence the choice is between one who doesnt believe in democracy & one who fought for it all the way.

I can see loads are reluctant to vote Anni for various reasons along the lines of he's an activist rather than a politician & that he has no religious background or knowledge like Maumoon, & others who despise him for conforming to pressures from religious fundamentalists.

And then there's the ganja.

Honestly, i dont wanna go into the evil that is maumoon.

I've heard people say they're opposed to Maumoon and that Anni is not the right alternative either. From what i gather, if it's between Maumoon and Hassan Saeed this time Hassan is gonna win it cos he's seen as a 'safer' choice than Anni.

I just get the feeling that it's gonna be Maumoon again. I'm guessing the issue of religion will just give him the edge.

But it'll indeed be a sad day if that happens. However cliched as it may sound now, 30 years is really enough. If Maumoon had any grace left in him he wouldn't even have stood this time...

cheers

Edit: 29/10, my prediction was wrong! A nation in triumph. such joy & relief. such optimism for the better...

If Maldivians vote in Maumoon this time, they have no one to blame except themselves. My message to all those who voted for Maumoon: don't expect Angels to descend from heaven and save you all from this hellhole.

alot of work has been done by the opposition to make sure ppl knew most of the stuff that maumoon had been hiding. and in the end two major events that probably turned most ppl against maumoon
1)the whole cross issue along with pics of him drinking wine
2)proof of major lies he made on the tellie.

anyways, the regime is finally over and the question stands as to what happend to all the dollars of BOM. is maumoon planning a getaway? or is there something else behind it? interesting. wish i was in male'.
